Newport Pagnell Youth FC was founded in the mid 1980’s as part of the Newport Pagnell Youth Club and was not a stand alone football club. It was referred to at that time as the football section of the youth club and was for boys between the ages of 12 and 16 who either lived in Newport Pagnell or attended Ousedale School who became members of the youth club.

The ethos of the football section was to be inclusive for all boys regardless of their ability to develop their football and social skills and expressly not for the seeking of trophies, although these were always welcome if won. This was written into the football section constitution which at that time formed part of the youth club constitution.

A small management committee oversaw the football section under the supervision of the youth club management committee who had the final say in all matters with the football committee being answerable to them and having to report to them on a monthly basis. The youth club also gave a lot of financial support to the football section in the formative years, helping to purchase goals and annual trophies.

The Youth Club was part of the BABC (Bucks Association for Boys Clubs) who ran various sporting events during the year. As such each year the football section entered a team (U14) into the BABC youth club football tournament. Newport Youth always did very well in this tournament as our teams were playing in a football league whereas as lot of the other youth club teams were just scratch teams made up from members of that particular youth club.

Newport Youth even won the area championship on several occasions and then represented Bucks in the South of England competition. One year we even made it to the semi finals.

In the early 1990’s the football section expanded to include teams of younger boys from under 9 upwards. The oldest team still being U16 as at that time the local leagues stopped at U16 with boys then being encouraged to join adult teams. During this time the football section still strongly stuck to their original ethos and continued from strength to strength.

Over the years the teams have had various league and cup successes and always enjoyed entering teams into the local summer tournaments, still including all boys. During the late 1990’s the football section ran their own summer tournament for several years to raise much needed additional funds for the club. They also ran an annual sponsored event with the boys competing in various skills challenges to accumulate points. All the boys used to rise to this challenge and it was always a very competitive but much enjoyed event.

In recent years following the withdrawal of support from Milton Keynes Council to the Youth Club, the youth club management committee was wound down and the running of the building of the youth club was handed over to Newport Pagnell Town Council. With the demise of the youth club management committee the football section now became a stand alone football club.

A new constitution was drawn up along almost identical lines to the original one only removing references to being answerable to the youth club management committee as it was deemed imperative that the club stuck to the original ethos of inclusivity for Newport Pagnell boys regardless of ability, this having always been an integral part of the club.
